Trajectory
Alexandra Guzmán leads two of CHANIS’s most distinctive practice areas: the Türkiye Desk and the Technology & Digital Business practice. Her combination of Turkish-language legal capability, academic grounding in Turkish law, and native expertise in technology and data protection law makes her profile unique in Panama’s legal market.
As Türkiye Desk lead, Alexandra advises Turkish-speaking companies and investors entering Panama — in Turkish, within their commercial context, and with direct understanding of the regulatory expectations and business culture they bring to a cross-border engagement. CHANIS operates the only Türkiye Desk at a boutique business law firm in Panama, and Alexandra is the lawyer who makes that claim operationally real.
As Technology & Digital Business lead, Alexandra advises technology companies, digital platforms, and fintechs on the specific legal challenges of operating in Panama’s evolving regulatory environment — data protection under Law 81/2019, platform liability, fintech structuring, SaaS and technology contracts, investment readiness, and M&A for technology companies. Her work on technology matters is practice-native, not adapted from a general corporate template.
Alexandra also advises on immigration and labour matters, data protection compliance, and dispute resolution — contributing to CHANIS’s integrated model across corporate, transactional, and regulatory work.
